The souls of Jonathan and David were knit together by God. Their friendship, loyalty and love for one another was unique, a love which was real, intense and one of action. This is the kind of love the saints should have for each other. This is the kind of love and fellowship which should pervade throughout the Church. This love is seen in its utmost clarity in the Lord Jesus Christ and His love for His bride.

John 6:60-71
Jesus makes the claim to the Jews questioning Him that He is the living bread, the bread of life sent from heaven, and unless they ate of His flesh and drank his blood they have no life in them. Knowing that life is in the blood, they were offended by this. But it was His so called disciples who couldn't handle this 'hard saying' and who ultimately left Him. The Lord knew who were true and who weren't and so used this to test and sift so called believers. Does He do this today? How does the church react when something hard and unexpected comes..Like Covid-19??

Behold My Servant!
Much is said about what Jesus did and taught, but nothing is said about what He actually looked like. King Saul was handsome and head and shoulders above the rest. David was ruddy and good looking. Elias, a mighty man of stature. Moses was Beautiful to look at. But God's Servant is described as who, "Has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him." God's Servant was not desired and was despised and hated by men. Jesus was not what the religious wanted, He was an unexpected Messiah. How do you see Him?

John 6:22-59
The same people Jesus fed with the five loaves and two fish followed Him to Capernaum. They sought after Him for selfish reasons. Their stomachs had been filled and they wanted more. They also wanted a military Messiah as King to force Rome out. Their Jewish mindset was to think they were righteous by their works and so asked, "What shall we do that we may work the works of God." They missed what Jesus had said to them, that rather than labour for perishable food they should desire the food which endures to everlasting life, and this only comes from Jesus. He is the Bread of life. We must feed on Him!

According to recent surveys, one in four non-believers pray when confronted by tough times. Atheists and agnostics turn to prayer in personal crisis or tragedy. Many of these admit they pray for comfort or to feel less lonely. of those who pray, less than half believe God actually hears them. The subject of most of the prayer, family tops the list along with asking for healing and praying for friends.
The reasons these Jews sought Jesus for what He could provide for them, for what they could get out out of Him.
