Ty limps into the episode after a hellacious trip to Nashville. He and Merc discuss the trip before jumping into JMU basketball, JMU Football winning another playoff game, and some local high school sports. The pick 'em segment was a short one with no guest this week and it set up the Washington Sports segment after the Football Team lost to Dallas, the Caps had an up and down week, and the Wizards have come crashing back down to earth.
After some technical difficulties and scheduling conflicts last week, the guys are back with a double Pick 'Em Segment. Guest Robbie Comer joined us for last week's picks and then Mercer and Ty held down the fort with no guest for this week's segment. Busy 2 weeks in JMU Men's and Women's Basketball, a playoff win for JMU football, Riverheads High playing for a State Championship (again), and college football playoffs all are on the docket for this week. Washington Sports segment allows Merc to not only talk about this week's win, but last week's Monday Night Football win too. Ty discusses a good 2 week stretch for the Caps and a couple of signings for the Nationals before the MLB lockout started. Finally, Merc brings us home talking about the struggling Wizards.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OUR LISTENERS! We're thankful for all the time you guys have spent listening to us this year and appreciate all the feedback, interaction, and love our listeners have shown us.
Episode 43 welcomes Mercer back from a successful trip to San Antonio. The guys settle in to discuss JMU basketball teams, JMU Football's road to the national championship in Frisco, and local football seasons coming to an end. Elliott Good makes his second appearance on the podcast to try and keep the guest record in good shape. After the pick 'em, the guys talk Washington Football Team's week vs Carolina and their Monday night matchup this week. They applaud the Caps for grinding through a West Coast trip while injured. And they discuss the tough week for the Wizards.
What a week for DC Sports. The boys can hardly contain their excitement. They discuss the closing of a few JMU team's seasons but also the opening of the AUBC to fans for both men and women's basketball teams. RJ Dofflemyer joins the podcast as a guest picker and drops some lines to look for betting this coming week in the NFL. An undefeated week from all DC sports has the pod buzzing.
Episode 41 brings a discussion of JMU leaving the CAA for the Sun Belt Conference before talking about Women's Soccer and Field Hockey losing in post season tournaments. Local football comes to playoff time and newly released college football rankings create more discussion with Michigan cracking the top 6. Aaron Campbell joins the podcast as a guest picker. The guys keep it light on a Football Team bye week, a decent week from the Caps, Soto being named an MVP candidate, and the Wizards getting off to a hot start and a win over the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks.
Episode 40 brings the longest episode yet but is filled with good talk about college football including the record setting day JMU QB Cole Johnson had. Joel Osborne joins the guys for the weekly pick 'em segment and geography is discussed between the three. Finally, the guys talk about Washington Football losing, the Caps with a couple of tough weeks marred by injury, and the Washington Wizards' great start.
A big week for the podcast with talks of JMU going to the Sun Belt Conference, good weeks from the Caps and Wizards, local sports, and another loss to discuss for the Football Team. The pick 'em segment was done by Chris Mercer but over paper picks as Chris couldn't join us in person. Finally, the guys discuss JMU Football's upcoming week vs the Elon Phoenix!
WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE
The guys discuss JMU fall sports continuing and high school football. Evan Knowles joins the pod as our guest picker this week. When talking about the embarrassment that was the Washington Football Team and the way they handled the Sean Taylor number retirement, the guys get heated. But they quickly turn it around when talking about the first week of the Washington Capitals, the opening week of the Washington Wizards on its way, and the new hitting coach hire by the Nationals.
Episode 37 turns out to be the longest recorded episode to this point because the guys had a lot to discuss. The Club Championship at the Caverns Country Club happened this weekend along with losses from JMU Football and the Washington Football Team. The Capitals open up the season this week and the guys discuss their chances. JMU sports are all in full swing and high school football is getting down to the nitty gritty. A lot of good stuff in this episode.
This episode starts with an apology from Ty to Carmony and then jumps straight into JMU Sports. JMU football outlasts a good New Hampshire football team while other college football teams didn't compete very well this past weekend. The Washington Football Team got a win last week and Mercer had to discuss it. The Caps and Wizards ramp up for their seasons while the Nationals finish theirs.
