I think it's safe to say that most people are ready to jump back into the world after Covid. However, for some people transitioning back to reality may not be as easy as ripping off your mask and going back exactly to the way things were. There are going to be some complicated decisions to be made and we need to give each other grace as we make this big transition. How will your life look post pandemic? Will you continue to work from home? Will you continue to wear a mask in public? Will you go to major events with thousands of people? What (or maybe even who) did you "leave behind" in quarantine that you're ok leaving behind all together? These are all questions that will come up and that we need to think about as we head back into whatever is next.

Over the weekend I had a once in a lifetime experience with a STRANGE spa treatment and it made me think more about the idea of “Choosing the Bigger Life” that I learned from author, Gretchen Rubin. I brought my Mom onto the podcast to talk about our international travel adventures as that’s how we “choose the bigger life.” We have trekked through the Czech Republic, Morocco, India, China, Thailand, Cambodia and Costa Rica. These trips have enriched our lives in so many ways from seeing the beauty of these places to seeing things that have broken our hearts and gave us new found perspective.

I've mentioned several times about writing a daily gratitude list. But here's the question of the week...how connected are you to the things you are grateful for? Are you jotting them down to check that off your list or are you really connecting to the gratitude you feel for those things or people? Recently, I've been dealing with some health issues/questions and it has really put things into sharp perspective for me. On this week's episode we'll talk about the idea of savoring gratitude. Savoring just means that we attempt to FULLY feel, enjoy, and extend our positive experiences. Savoring is a great way to develop a long-lasting stream of positive thoughts and emotions. Over the last several months I have partnered with the great organization Harper For Kids to be a public speaker for kids in schools (via zoom). This opportunity has really become a HUGE blessing for me. The kid's questions have put a magnifying glass on my life and have forced me to really focus on questions like what is my definition of success, how do I deal with failure, what is the why behind this podcast? When impressionable kids ask you these important questions you want to have some great advice to give them. During these talks the teachers and principles have mentioned these are great lessons for kids but also great reminders for adults.
