Born and raised in Homestead, Fl in 1976 on an airforce base. Generations of his family members served in the military but he followed a different path. He received a Bachelors of Illustration degree in 2002 from Ringling School of the Arts and Design with high honors. He moved to Boston where he obtained a studio at the Vernon Street Studios in Somerville, Massachusetts to continue his painting. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in the United States. In 2016, was awarded a grant by the National Endowment of the Arts.

Visual artist Jenna Efrein fuses sculpture, installation and performance art to draw focus to societal and environmental concerns. Driven by activism societal and environmental concerns and inspired by the moral and philosophical tenets of community, she stimulates social awareness through a practice that invites viewers to participate both physically and psychologically. The impetus for her work is derived from research and observation; it exposes the repercussions of being human in this world.
