Fist to Five is actual a technique used to get the pulse of a group. Often times, if someone asks a question in a group and the loudest person answers, others are less likely to respond, if it counters what the loud person says. When that happens, groupthink can occur, which isn’t good. If you’re unfamiliar with the term “groupthink,” please check out my video “How to Identify and Overcome Groupthink” for more information. Using the fist to five technique gives everyone an equal voice and you can get a feel for the group’s collective opinion, just but using your fingers.
