God promised Habakkuk that He would right all the wrongs done by their enemies, but the timing seemed delayed. A belief in God's sovereignty implies that we believe God does all things in the right way and at the right time.

The prophet Habakkuk could not understand how God could idly allow the sin of their enemies to continue unchallenged. If we believe God to be worthy of our complete trust, we must accept His plan even when it doesn't make total sense.

Like many other spiritual disciplines, fasting can, unfortunately, be a means to gain the approval of others. Jesus taught that fasting should only be something directed to and noticed by God.
