    >Hello, what a friend, music lovers, I was a little lost due to some situations, but I hope to rejoin this festival frequently, I hope everyone is feeling great, today I bring my participation in round number one of the Hive music Festival.
    >For a long time I have been following the musical work of a mandolinist called Hamilton from Holland, who in my opinion is one of the best in the world. In Brazil, which is his native country, music with a great variety of styles predominates, which has great richness and harmonics. . , rhythmic and melodic. On many occasions, when researching a lot of these topics, they seem really difficult to me, especially when it comes to the agility and fingering that they give to the piece.
    >The song I chose, although it is not a fast song and required too much agility, rhythmically I love it and as far as its melody is concerned, I love it, the song is called _"Receita de Samba"_. The author of this incredible piece is Jacob de Bandolim, a Brazilian musician and composer, who has created very good songs with great impact on Brazilian popular culture.
    >For years I liked this piece, I tell you that I had learned it some time ago, but I had completely forgotten it, but I wanted to play it again, I like it a lot, I had to look for the score and refresh it in my memory again . each of the notes hahaha. Luckily, after a few hours of refreshing my memory, I looked for a reproduction of the song on the Internet and used it to make this video. I decided to perform this song with the mandolin, which as you know is my faithful companion, hoping that you will like it.

    >Hello dear friends who love music, today I bring my participation in The _Vibes Web3 Music Contest_, I come accompanied by my faithful instrument known as the mandolin, one that I have been playing for several years.
    > I decided to challenge myself as an instrumental musician, also putting as motivation in this contest, to learn a song that represents, from my perspective, an execution challenge, something that I have never played, and that has a high level of difficulty.
    >I did some research, and after listening to several songs I decided on one called _When I Remember_, a song that has represented a challenge so far in recent days, since it consists of several parts, and each of them goes through melodic and harmonic fragments . of great demand for agility, in addition to changes in intensity that range from sweet, slow and subtle to intense and fast. Without a doubt, learning this song has put me through moments of torment, sighs, nostalgia and joy, but I am largely satisfied with the result, although without lying to you and with all possible frankness I know that it is not perfect. The song _When I Remember_ is a choro, and belongs to the popular Brazilian genre of instrumental music.
    >The composer of this great masterpiece was Luperce Miranda. I have nothing more to add, I just hope that you like my interpretation with the mandolin, a hug.

  • Hive Music Festival - Week 49/Round 1 - Natalia Cuatro Solista ||• @rodolfomandolina
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=rodolfomandolina/dkivuvnf
    ![Screenshot_2023-09-21-23-20-34-90_99c04817c0de5652397fc8b56c3b3817.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmcmsU9zfkhVPaCPodLLfrY5Dbp6XtawCpNxMMHLGHDD6Z/Screenshot_2023-09-21-23-20-34-90_99c04817c0de5652397fc8b56c3b3817.jpg)
    > Hello dear friends of Hive Music Festival, the new week begins, I hope this time I can complete the three rounds and there is no inconvenience.
    >I tell you that when I was little around the age of 6 years old I started to see classes of the instrument known as Venezuelan Cuatro, my dad made an effort at that time to buy me my first cuatro, which lasted me a long time until one day it was hit and broke.
    >I didn't last long playing cuatro, because a few years later I changed instruments to play the mandolin because my teacher decided so, and well, it's the one I use to bring most of my presentations in this Festival.
    >Despite being focused on the mandolin, there was a time that I wanted to resume my studies of the Venezuelan cuatro in a self-taught way, and well since I had no cuatro, a friend lent me one that he had and did not use that was old and in fact had a hole in the bottom, thanks to that cuatro I could learn to defend myself a little more playing this instrument.
    >The only bad thing is that the sound quality was not as expected, and since it had a hole it was out of tune and gave bad sound in some frets, but thank God recently my dad gave me a small gift, he bought me a cuatro that is pretty basic but is in better condition and sounds much better, the only thing I need is to change the strings.
    > It made me laugh when I took a picture of the two cuatros, they are practically the same, the borrowed cuatro and the new cuatro.
    ![Screenshot_2023-09-21-23-20-34-90_99c04817c0de5652397fc8b56c3b3817.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmcmsU9zfkhVPaCPodLLfrY5Dbp6XtawCpNxMMHLGHDD6Z/Screenshot_2023-09-21-23-20-34-90_99c04817c0de5652397fc8b56c3b3817.jpg)
    >I decided to bring you these weeks, music with this instrument, to challenge myself and remember songs from the past that now I find difficult to play because of my agility. I brought you for this week number one a song composed by Maestro Antonio Lauro, called Natalia, it is a song that many musicians in Venezuela consider difficult, and that in the music universities they take it as a final exam, I already knew it on the mandolin, and this time I bring it to you with the Venezuelan cuatro.
    >There are still details to correct in my performance because it sounds a little dirty, but this was my best attempt, the theme is in the rhythm of Venezuelan waltz, and the first part I executed in the form of punteo and arpeggio, then try to add some rhythm, I hope you like it.

  • [Esp-Eng] Improvisación en Base de Son Cubano ||• @rodolfomandolina
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=rodolfomandolina/rgmkecmg
    > Hello I was a little lost, it has been very hot weeks 🥵 at least on the island where I live is unbearable, in the afternoons is incredible how hot it is, but I hope the weather improves soon.
    > Recently, I met with one of my friends of the group in which he played, and his wife began to show me several groups from various countries that she had gotten and that she liked a lot, while showing me some videos she showed me a Cuban son, super tasty that I liked a lot.
    > After I got home, I looked for a track of Cuban Son, and I wanted to improvise for a while, to speed up my fingers and practice a little. For those of you who don't know what Son Cubano is, it is a musical genre original from Cuba that fuses African and Spanish musical elements, in my opinion it has a rhythmic rhythm that provokes dancing and enjoyment.
    > In the first part of this video I recorded I tried to do some montunos, and then I tried to add more notes without so many repetitive phrases, and that was the result.
    > Improvisation, for me is always the best, it allows you to express yourself freely musically speaking, I hope you like it, greetings.

    > I am a little sad, because I wanted to participate in week number two of the Hive Music Festival and unfortunately I could not, the truth the previous week was very tiring for me because I take care of my mother, who needs my attention permanently, I already had my three songs prepared for these rounds, although I could not bring them all, I decide to participate with one of them in the last round.
    > This song that I bring you today is called "Odiame", a song quite recognized worldwide, performed by Julio Jaramillo. The version I bring you today is by a group known as "Los Tres Panchos".
    > I tell you that I spent a long time rehearsing this song, over and over again, because it has a very peculiar introduction that I love, but it required some agility to be heard well, besides getting used to the rhythm that I don't usually play much. After several days practicing the song this was my best result, in general I liked it, but I know it can be much better, with more practice I will surely be able to correct my mistakes.
    > I wanted to add my personal touch to the theme, so in the second part of the song I decided to improvise, play with the notes while the basic harmony is advancing, also I forgot to mention before the second part comes again part of the introduction, but I had a little game of notes in a part of the melody, it was hard for me to get it out hahahahahaha.
    > But if I could, really this kind of songs make me remember great moments of the past, I love them, I should keep looking for other similar ones, the truth amazed me a lot of the agility of the musicians and their interpretations, because in this kind of songs the guitar stands out a lot, always responds to the voice, and makes solos or introductions of great agility and that sound incredible.
    > I just hope you enjoy my interpretation and my version of this iconic song, a hug for everyone.

  • [Esp-Eng] LA REINA 👑👑 - Mandolin || @rodolfomandolina

    > For some time I have been trying to explore new genres and new rhythms that allow me to learn new musical experiences and connect with other parts of the world, in this search I found a song that for a long time my mandolin teacher had given me the score called the queen, this theme is in the rhythmic or polka genre that I have not had the opportunity to play it much.
    > Undoubtedly when playing this song I see that it has a rhythmic quite cheerful in my opinion, searching or researching a little more on the internet and other media I learned that the polka is usually used in traditional dances in Poland, I found it very interesting and also I understand why the melody has a rhythmic so cheerful and peculiar.
    > Since I started to publish in hive spaces in the musical part I try to at least investigate a little about the song I'm playing about its origin, about what inspired those who composed it and that has allowed me to learn a lot about music in general. In this case with the song La reina it has been quite difficult for me to find the author or composer of the song, so I owe you that detail of the composer of the song, anyway if my fellow friends or artists of the platform know who the composer is, if you could help me in the comments I would appreciate it very much to learn a little more.
    > I am performing this time as you have already seen me other times with the mandolin, without any other instrument so you can listen to the melody and rhythm that I just told you about this polka style and hoping you like it so I hope you enjoy it, I send you a hug and we continue making music.

    > Some time ago my dad told me to learn a bolero to see if you can play it, the truth is that I don't play this genre very much, and I only knew one song called noche ideal.
    > Remembering what he told me some time ago that he wanted me to learn a bolero, I decided to start looking for one that I liked to try to get it out. I remembered a very famous trio whose songs every time I listened to them I felt a great connection, they had a great musicality in their songs, and with very good lyrics.
    > I am talking about the Mexican trio Los Panchos, their songs were and still are listened in many parts of the world, in Venezuela for example this type of music performed by Los Panchos, is usually listened by older people, to remember old times, since their music represented unforgettable moments lived, in meetings between friends I have also listened to this type of boleros. One of the most popular songs of them, is called "Sin ti", a song that I have had the opportunity to listen to it in other opportunities but I had never played it with my instrument the mandolin, as I told you I don't usually play boleros on it.
    > After several days listening to it, trying to get the melody out, and besides that parts of the very characteristic accompaniment of the guitar that is usually a game of responding to the voice, I was able to get it out in an acceptable way to share it with you in an instrumental version.
    > I really love it, the first part of the intro song has a very interesting play on the notes, when I used to practice it I used to make a lot of mistakes, it was a bit confusing. I tried to do something different in this participation with respect to the previous ones, which was in the first part of the melody, sing it and also answer me at the same time with the typical accompaniments of the guitar in the bolero.
    > And well that was the result that you can see in the video, I hope you like my interpretation on the mandolin, greetings.

    > Today I want to dedicate a very special song for me, since it has been present in several years of my life, especially in my childhood, or in many parts of it.
    >The song is called "Bajo un Árbol", a song composed by a great artist of my land, Jesús Ávila. This song for me has a great feeling impregnated, it transmits a lot of emotion, and its lyrics speak of asking with faith for a love, specifically for the love of a woman. In his lyrics he asks with great devotion to the Virgin of the Valley, which is an invocation of the Virgin Mary, to grant him a miracle and that the love of that woman is his, is only his love.
    >In addition it also speaks that the person in the patron celebrations of the Virgin would like to be next to that woman, and tell her everything he feels. I tell you that it has been a big part of my childhood because these festivities that I was talking about are held in early September, that is, it is not long, I usually go every year to a place called the Valley and there they usually put music dedicated to the Virgin.
    >In these festivities usually come many people from all states of Venezuela, to appreciate the descent and ascent of the Virgin of the valley, in addition to pay homage and give thanks for the miracles conceived. I bring you but in instrumental version this song, I hope that without the lyrics, you can appreciate the great feeling that carries this song, and enjoy my playing, a hug.

    > Lately the lights have been going out a lot in the area where I live, obviously that always represents something bad, because the fans don't work, or there is no internet, you can't see much unless you turn on a candle or your cell phone, and stop counting other annoying things.
    > But well, haven't you heard the saying "In bad things, there is always something good", I started to analyze and it is true, something that I enjoy a lot when there is no light, in the house and the whole area, is the sound of silence, no noise, no loud music from the neighbors, it seems that everything is on mute, that for me is ideal.
    > I say it is ideal, because I think, what if I grab my instrument, the mandolin, and I start playing. The notes of the instrument sound even deeper, there are no interruptions, no noise, just you and your instrument in the silence. At that moment, I was inspired to create some melody, phrase and harmony that came out of my imagination and what was flowing as I played.
    > Little by little I found phrases that I liked, and that I felt a great connection when I heard them, and the parts that I liked when improvising, I was gluing them as if I were a bricklayer creating a wall of a house, joining block by block, in this case, they are notes and more notes hahahahahahahahah.
    > And the song that you are listening to in the video came out, an inspiration that I decided to name, "Silencio" (Silence), and well you can imagine why I named it like that hahaha. and well you can imagine why I named it this way hahaha. You will say that I should have been inspired or more creative with the name of the song, but in reality it was that simple and since it came from that moment that I enjoyed a pleasant silence and my instrument, I named it that way.
    > I think I have nothing more to say, so I just hope you find this song enjoyable, for you my public, let me know in the comments what you think of my interpretation, a hug.

    > I'm here again sharing with you some music with my mandolin. The song I bring you today is called "La zapoara", a song that marked my childhood, as it was very popular to play it when we started playing an instrument, because it was part of the traditional songs of Venezuela and also because it was a fairly simple harmony.
    > The zapoara, is a Venezuelan merengue rhythm, I played it in the key of C major, it was written by a great artist Simon Diaz, and was popularized by a group known as Serenata Guayanesa.
    > This version that I bring you is only instrumental, but this song has very particular lyrics because it mentions in it, a trip to a city in Venezuela known as Ciudad Bolivar, and in which upon arriving at the place, a guayanesa (woman) makes a recommendation, which was that if he came to eat "La zapoara" which is a very common fish in the state, he had to cut his head. The stubborn person decided to eat the fish with the head, and it was the worst mistake he could make.
    > For me it is undoubtedly a very particular lyric, and I find it interesting how from a happy story, in the form of an anecdote, the author was inspired to create this song. That makes us think of that phrase that says Music is in everything, in the sad moments, in the memories, in the events, in the emotions, in the laughter, in the air.
    > I for one always appreciate, and it brings back good memories to play this song, so I hope you like it, a hug for everyone.
