Rogue Pixels

Welcome to your new favourite podcast all about online animations: Rogue Pixels! On each episode, you'll get to hear us chat to your favourite creators about some of the biggest cartoons on YouTube. This week, we're talking to Ben Michael and Jason Alan Dewey of Mashed about one of the internet's biggest cartoon series of 2022, There's Something About Amy.

Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons rarely come as emotional as this series proved to be, but fans adored this different take on Amy Rose. Listen now to learn about the original pitch to bring back Secret History Tails and how The Batman Who Laughs influenced the story of Amy Rose and her fox friend. You'll also hear about how YouTube restrictions resulted in some of the series' most iconic imagery. And, on top of that, you'll hear Ben and Jason wax lyrical on the talents of voice actor Eilemonty for her performances as both Amy and Tails.

Rogue Pixels is the podcast that shares your love of the biggest and best animations online. Each week Colm Ahern chats with the creators of the internet’s most successful cartoons in order to learn more about how those toons came into existence.

This week, we're talking to Tom Jenkins and Ben Michael of Mashed about one of the internet's most-beloved Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons, Secret History of Sonic & Tails.

Over the past seven years, this Sonic cartoon has taken on a life of it's own. A lot of that, of course, is down to Sonic's best friend. It's fair to say that Tails (voiced by Mick Lauer and animated by Zeurel) is one of the most recognisable characters from the Mashed archive. Fans have created art, video game mods, and more based off this version of Miles Prower. Tom and Ben break down the origins of the character on this episode, as well as how they decided to bring him back for There's Something About Amy.
