EP 232 of the Leave Your Mark is a deep and thoughtful conversation with my friend and peer, Stu McMillan. It's the second time I've had him as a guest, the third issue of his content (we did a little Performance Lab together as well a while back). Our paths crossed maybe fifteen years ago now, we were performance coaches at opposite ends of Canada working with elite athletes. We shared a common vision of improving athletic performance and resilience, but we didn't really know it at the time. There was both a mutual admiration, but a mutual distrust in those early years. We didn't really know what to make of one another, and we didn't really try. Segue forward and Stu has become a friend, and someone I admire for his ability to re-invent himself, explore multiple dynamics, be at the top of his game, question his own abilities and approaches, and live an eclectic life. From DJ to writer, to coach, and to entrepreneur, these are but a few of the elements that make Stu unique. I truly enjoy our conversations, and this one is no exception. I hope you enjoy this week's LYM, I know I did.
