Love comes in many forms but most wouldn't think of witches when asked. In the 19th century, we follow Nevena as she experiences life in many different genders and ages as a mute shapeshifter. A film that is both beautiful, sad, and tranquil all at the same time is a unique take on a witch story. The main issues in this are one, this is not a horror film even though it is billed as such, and two, this is a slow film that if you are expecting something it is not this film. Despite this, it is well-made and interesting. Just remember, no playthings.

On the final night of October, we get ready to move on to the next month, but at the same time, we say goodbye to a saga of 20 years. In an impromptu episode, we discuss the most recent film in the Halloween series as we watch the story of Laurie and Michael finally end. While there are A LOT of opinions on this film(ours included) it is still something different with an idea that could have launched something. Whether you hate it or love it, the boogeyman dies tonight.

Sometimes when you are down on your luck you need to do odd jobs, babysit, walk a few dogs, or maybe videotape for a murder.  We follow Aaron as he answers an ad to videotape a man for a day to showcase his identity before his inevitable death. What follows is a film that strives in uncomfortability and uses a found footage style to elevate it. This may not be your traditional found footage film but it definitely is a gem from earlier Netflix. All we know is, "death is coming for us all, but we don't wanna die".

Less is more when it comes to many things in this world but it's been a decisive vote for ages when it comes to what bumps in the night. On one hand, when you see all of it, you can take in the work and craftsmanship of it but on the other, it can be scarier to create it inside your own head. This is the question we ask, and as always we want your opinion on this as we peak through our fingers when it comes to whether or not we should see the monster

Have you ever felt a little paranoid that your parents aren't actually your natural parents, and perhaps, a group of wealthy alien beings? Nope, I didn't think so but Billy sure did as he tried to uncover what they were up to. A film that definitely feels trapped in its time with a choppy plot and some scenes that feel like they go nowhere. On the other hand, it has some great body horror as well as practical effects to pull you back in. Love it or hate it, you'll make an excellent contribution to society

What follows is a slow-burn film that for a first-time viewing might seem a little scattered, however, if you really give yourself to it, it creates a tense and eerie feeling throughout the whole film that has a good payoff for paying attention. Once you check this out, you'll be asking "please don't go"

Welcome to the first film for Spooky Scary Season and with that, we tackle a terrifying subject, families. Char is a teenager who takes care of her grandma and depressed mother, when her mother suddenly disappears for 24 hours something doesn't seem right about her. A slow burn with a payoff feeling like something A24 would produce. This film uses a wide range of cinematography, acting, and storytelling to bring an old fable new life. We might need to ask where it's been all this time, but it can't tell us...yet.
