Rookie Season

The girls recap their recent field trip to Memphis for the Grizzlies home opener! Niki is officially hooked on basketball and Katie fills her in on the three defining Grizz eras. We also hear Katie’s backstory for becoming a sports girl and how her fandom began (starting with a homemade zine).

As her very favorite sports season draws near, Katie previews the NBA for Niki by assigning each team a Taylor Swift song. From Fearless to TTPD, there’s an era for every team!

In episode 4, we feature our very first guest - WNBA superfan Margie Quinn! Margie gets Katie and Niki prepped for the WNBA playoffs by exploring the league’s lore, current star power, hot button issues, and other intrigues.

In episode 3, we check in on the first weeks of football, Niki’s budding Ravens fandom, and her foray into fantasy sports. We also have our first Astrology Corner - how do the stars explain some interesting athlete personalities (ahem, Aaron Rodgers)?

In this NFL season preview episode, Niki becomes our bachelorette, meeting a crowded field of teams/suitors in her search for “the one.” Katie curates a group date of NFL franchises, followed by hometowns, fantasy suites, and ultimately, proposals. Along the way, we learn key players, league history, and team culture, as Niki decides who will receive her final rose.

In our first episode, we discuss why Niki’s never yet become a sports fan and what Katie can do to woo her. Then, we cover offseason sports storylines that match our summer pop culture faves. Which athlete is having a Brat summer? Who’s embodying yearning? And which team gets compared to House of the Dragon’s Greens?”
