Jamaica Heolimeleikalani Osorio is a Kanaka Maoli wahine poet , activist , and  scholar "born and raised on "music, mo‘olelo and ‘ōlelo Hawai‘i." In this episode she dives deep into the political history of violence to the ʻāina and people of Hawaiʻi and what that means to the struggle against colonialism, capitalism, and white supremacy today. Our conversation is loaded with wisdom and passion and offers so much to look forward to as we Hawaiians and "their homies," as Jamaica likes to say, move forward together in reclaiming our relationship with the land in Hawaiʻi.

In our very first episode we attempt to understand the environment justice landscape in Hawaiʻi. Together we can build a future where people and the land are nourished and celebrated, never subjugated. This is a space where we can step up by stepping back to listen, unlearn, grow, and amplify others.
