Mother’s Day brings a range of emotions for many people. In this bonus Mother’s Day episode, I had the privilege of sitting down with my 17-year-old grandson, Luke, who was adopted when he was 18 months old. Together, we talk about the complexities of his situation and how more than one thing can be true—something can be both good and hard at the same time. As we wrap up Season Two of the Rooted & Radiant podcast, I would like to thank our guests for their vulnerability, honesty, and courage in sharing their stories. They not only teach us but also remind us that we are not alone in our experiences, even when they are sad or dark. The enemy may try to convince us we are alone, but through sharing the work of God in our lives, we come to realize that we are not. Isolation is a tool of the enemy but sharing our journey together helps us to recognize God’s presence with us.
Thank you for accompanying us on this season's journey through the wilderness, where we learned that it is not a place of banishment, but rather a space where God seeks to bless us. It’s been a privilege to explore God's word together. Stay tuned for Season Three!

The decision to follow God does not exempt us from challenging times; rather, it guarantees that we will step into a spiritual battle. In this episode, we’ll discuss how God has equipped you for this battle and how there is power beyond yourself when you engage in it. Transitioning from the wilderness to the promises God has given you requires putting on the full armor of God and capturing every thought for Him. Sometimes we go through valleys that only Jesus can walk us through. It was my privilege to sit down and talk to my oldest daughter, Morgan, about her own wilderness journey through one such valley. When her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor, she and her family embarked on a long, terrifying, and brutal healing journey. There are treasures in the wilderness—treasures you would never have received if you had not been willing to follow God into a dry and barren land. Time and time again, we see examples of people walking through the wilderness and into God’s promises in the Bible—Abraham, Moses, David, John, and even Jesus. In this episode, I talk about how God prepares a table in the wilderness for us. I pray that this episode reminds you that God has personal promises for you, even in, and especially in the wilderness.
