We seek the things of God, not by our own strength, but in accordance with the Spirit. Not in order to earn our salvation, but because of the salvation we have been granted.

The church was wrestling with the idea that the Gospel equaled Christ + _____. Paul begins his letter by reminding them that Jesus + Nothing = Everything.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, to live a perfect life and to die a brutal death, that there might no longer be condemnation for those who are His, but everlasting joy in His presence.
