We look at the journey the Magi took and Herod's response. We also see four prophecies and three times the mention of the word fulfilled. Through all that what happened in Matthew 2, we see that God's plans will always be fulfilled. 

What is the weight of righteousness? The weight of righteousness is obedience. God calls Joseph and Mary to endure public shame of Mary having a child before they were married. However, Joseph and Mary know what others don't know. This pregnancy is of divine and miraculous origin. This is a work of God that will forever change the landscape of the world. We see Joseph and Mary are obedient to what God had called him to do. We was to be faithful. The name Jesus means God saves. The name Immanuel is God with us. We see that Jesus is our savior that is God with us, God among us. 

What does it mean that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of David, and the Son of Abraham. As we begin to look at the Gospel of Matthew we will first look at how Matthew views Jesus as the True King of all Creation.

Though Jesus appears to be on trial, it is really humanity who is standing before their great Judge. Let's look at Luke 23. 

We now see how much Jesus loves the world. We see the depth of God's grace displayed as Jesus is taken into the hands of sinful men. 

Jesus begins His journey to the cross. I want to zoom in and look at the love Jesus had for His disciples, and for us. It should inspire us. Cause us to sit in awestruck wonder at the love and grace displayed. Let us read and reflect on the depth of love Jesus has for a broken and sinful creation. 

How are we to prepare for the End Times? Believe it or not Jesus has a lot to say about it. Be Ready! How? Listen and hear.

What does Luke have to say about authority? Specifically about Jesus' authority? We will see that Jesus' authority is like the air we breathe. Accept it, submit to it, and you will live. Reject it and it is like holding your breath, it ends in death and judgment. So t he question becomes, what will we do with Jesus and His authority?

Jesus is marching toward Jerusalem, toward the cross. He will meet a short tax collector that is seeking him. We will compare Zaccheus and the Rich Young Ruler. Then we will look at the events that follow Jesus' interaction with Zaccheus.
