We have in this chapter six shocking stories. Sure not all of them shock us like sticking a fork into a socket (don't try that at home or anywhere else). But to the original audience these stories were jaw dropping. Sermons could be done on each story so this is a run through of why they are shocking what they meant and what they mean for us today. This chapter captures the theme of the chapter and applies it to my life, to your life. Will we learn from the Savior's feet? Pursue Him today.

What life will look like in the Kingdom of God is what it should look like at least in principle in our lives today. You see, Jesus will say that the Kingdom of God is all around us so, are we seeing it? Is it impacting our day to day lives? It should. Jesus teaches in parables. This time a parable about a feast that was aimed at the Pharisees and thus confronts the Pharisee in us. 

Jesus tells three parables that all have the same refrain, "what was lost has been found." The question that jumps out of the text is, 'will we love the lost the way Jesus does?' 

We may not like the word Repent, but we certainly cannot get past it. Jesus calls all that would follow Him to repent from their sins and follow Him. 

In this episode we answer the question, "why should we read genealogies?" There is a great theological value to reading every part of Scripture. I hope you will read this genealogy and dwell in the richness of God's word this Christmas season. 

Be ready for the endgame. We spend our lives looking at what's in front of us. Jesus warns His disciples to be looking to the time where He returns and the world will be judged. Live with the end in mind. Don't waste your life. 

Where is your treasure? It is certainly easy to treasure the things of this earth because they are right there in front of us. What does Jesus say about the matter as we look at the rich young fool parable.
