I thrive under structure.  These guidelines have come in handy when my brain gets in the way.

1. I always come first and I always COME first. Make yourself a priority, be intentional, and communicate with your partner.
2. I will never fake another orgasm.  
3. My body, my pleasure.  I embrace what I enjoy and I will not accept or participate in things that I do not.
4. I will not be ashamed of my sexuality.
5. The only validation I need is my own. 
6. I love my body the way it is, and I will not change it for anyone but me.

These rules are always evolving.  Make them your own in the way that feels good!

I enjoy talking about sex almost as much as I enjoy having it.  Well, maybe not - but I was raised with the belief that sex was only for making babies in a marriage - not to be enjoyed.  So, I spent a large chunk of my life not talking about it.

I’m tired of not talking about it.  There are still a LOT of women that admit to faking orgasms, that don’t orgasm during sex, and are afraid to ask for what they want… if they even know what they want.

I’m here to start the conversation so that women have a voice in their sexuality, know what they like, and have the confidence to get it.  I want us all to have the energy and stress relief that comes with that.

Let’s break the shame and taboo around sex and really embrace ourselves, our whole selves.

In this episode, I brought my sister in to chat about the beliefs around sex that we were raised in and how still, even with the same messages from our parents, we wet on polar opposite sexual journeys. When our dad said, “all men want is sex,” I took it as a challenge to use them before they could use me with no strings attached.  My sister took it to mean that she had to find her unicorn, the rare man capable of emotions too.  Our mom preached abstinence, and there was no real discussion from either about what healthy relationships should be.

We’ve been able to lean on each other over the years, and we’ll go into lots of juicy details in this fun episode!

In the midst of my sex addiction, it occured to me that I was using sex to mask the actual emotions I was having. I wasn’t enjoying myself and I was faking a lot of my orgasms.  I didn’t give myself permission to find out what I actually liked.  It wasn’t until a friend bought me a vibrator that I started the healing journey of figuring myself out, what I actually wanted and liked.

Are you faking orgasms regularly? Why? Do you want it to be over? Are you trying to make your partner feel better? Is your mind running a million miles a minute? Are you actually communicating to your partner what you like and don’t like? 

Take yourself on a journey. Figure out what you like, where your spots are, and then communicate them.
