We are back with another episode! This is the first episode of 2021. I hope that everyone had a fun and safe time over the holidays. As was stated in the previous episode the podcast is going to shift slightly. Each month will be based on a topic from what is called the champions manual. The month of January will be inspiration. This episode is to introduce the topics and guests!

Decided to end the year by taking a trip down memory lane with our previous 14 episodes from 2020. This year has been tough but there are some positives. Listen to a little motivational clip from each one of the guests who were featured on the Roughnecks Podcast this year.

A former Purdue University running back, Richie Worship, joins the show this week. Richie went to Valley Forge High School before earning a scholarship from the Boilermakers. He talks about his recruiting process, his time at Purdue, and the injury that cut his football career short. I have never met Richie but this was a great conversation with many learning takeaways.

Morgan Cotter joins Cole on the Roughnecks Podcast this week making him the seventh coach from the Ohio Wesleyan football staff to make an appearance on the show. Mogan talks about how he worked his way up from a walk-on back-up long snapper at Kent State to becoming a scholarship starter. He even adds in an interesting and comical story about the short time he spent playing with Pitsburg Steelers Super Bowl XLIII MVP, James Harrison. Along with coaching, Morgan is also a teacher and shares his unique way of how he received his first teaching job. The episode wraps up with Motivation Monday where he explains why it's a great day to be you! 

Casey King joins the Roughnecks Podcast this week. After spending some time at Toledo, Casey decided to join the United States Marine Corps. He was deployed for Operation Desert Storm. After serving our country Casey went on to become successful in both the coaching and business world. Listen in as Casey King talks about his time at Toledo, serving in the military, coaching, and his life in business. He also give out some great motivational advice!

Teddy had to miss this week's episode, but it did not stop Cole from diving into a fun conversation with a former football player at THE Ohio State University.  Owen Fankhauser is the current corners coach at Ohio Wesleyan University. Despite being told no from Kent State and Ohio State (at first) when trying out for their football team he pushed through to become a walkon for the Buckeyes. Owen speaks on some of his experiences while wearing the scarlet and gray in Columbus. 

Max Mordarski join the Roughnecks Podcast for episode 7. Max is a student coach at Ohio Wesleyan University but was originally recruited to be a placekicker. He had to give up playing the sport of football after tearing his hip labrum not once, but twice.  Wanting to stay around the sport he stepped on the coaching staff as a student coach. Max explains his 500 plus day journey of tearing his labrum the first time till he finished rehab after the second surgery.
