Two Rocks Rye performs at the Underground on Friday, October 11, 2019 with Sid Kingsley.

From the Band:
" “Everything Else” came about as a warmup groove, an attempt to get our juices flowing.  As such, it works as a concoction of each member’s respective musical influences (and really brings the funk).  It’s a tale of desired isolation and musical freedom, despite recognizing we all have busy lives.  There’s this (the band and the art we love), and then there’s…everything else; it doesn’t get better than this."

Two Rocks Rye performs at the Underground on Friday, October 11, 2019 with Sid Kingsley.

From the Band:
" What exactly is a “telejam”?  Is it a group of musicians making and sharing music over the phone or internet?  Is it a depiction of one screaming into the void, recognizing their lack of emotional reciprocation?  Or is it simply a jam created on a Fender Telecaster?  This song seems to suggest all the above, with an energy equivalent to driving 85mph on the freeway."

Two Rocks Rye performs at the Underground on Friday, October 11, 2019 with Sid Kingsley.

From the Band:
"One of our harder-rocking songs, “Cold Killers” depicts a hustling loose cannon and the damage inflicted on others, mirrored in its opening and battling harmonious guitar riff.  Let’s just say the song’s subject was one cold killer, and the song’s driving energy and cold minor keys are meant to reflect just that."

Round Guys Radio welcomed Two Rocks Rye to chat about their sound, their art, and their street pounding schedule.

Two Rocks Rye might be one of the hardest working bands in the region, playing together nearly every weekend for a few years now. They found their roots in '90s rock inclusive of Pearl Jam and other '90s influences. Each member brings a bit of a twist and unique talent to the well molded sound, be it the influences from New Zealand born and raised guitarist, Ben Smith, or from, Brian Shaw, their drummer - a graphic designer by trade, who creates the art work for all album covers and promo materials. Be sure to catch Two Rocks Rye open at the Underground on Friday, October 11, 2019 with Sid Kingsley.

Two Rocks Rye performs at the Underground on Friday, October 11, 2019 with Sid Kingsley.

From the Band:
"Released as our first single, “Figure It Out” is the stylistic embodiment of Two Rocks Rye; it’s soulful, sometimes jazzy, and yet it still rocks.  Much like the rest of our debut album Saving Claire, the song was a work-in-progress for nearly two years, and one of the earliest ones we’ve written.  There’s a reason it served as that album’s opener, as it is both a musical and lyrical introduction to the brand that is Two Rocks Rye."

About the Song, per Julian XTRA:
""Rat Race" embodies a more chaotic vibe; I wrote this upon moving to NYC - easily the busiest city in the nation. "Rat Race" is about exactly what it sounds like - keeping up with the rat race that is life."
