London Youth Rowing is a charity dedicated to rowing for all, especially the young and the less fortunate. Matt Rostron, CEO of London Youth Rowing, is joining us on RowingChat this month to discuss how they achieve their goals and grow the London rowing community.

They have achieved success in some ambitious rowing projects. They've delivered indoor rowing to state secondary schools accross London, founded the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships, and work regularlywith over 8,000 11-18 year olds every year to open up the world of rowing, both competitive and recreational.

When Matt joined, the charity was very small indeed, with just 3 full time members of staff. Now they operate with a 23 person team and are expanding their reach into other sports (Canoeing and Sailing) with some big name partners.

Matt talks here about how to grow accessibility, how to fund raise; what it takes to enable rowing with organisations and partners who have no knowledge of the sport, and smart ways to coach young people.

The world's leading sculling coach, Giuseppe (Beppe) de Capua has a track record like you wouldn't believe - from coaching Italy Olympic Quad scullers to Gold in 1988 and Bronze in 1992, to eight medals in the 19 events (four of them, gold) for the World Rowing Champs in 2011.

In short, Beppe is perhaps the worlds more renowned expert sculling coach. Here's our RowingChat interview with him.

Wade is probably the most successful all-round University rowing coach in the UK today. He develops Mens and Womens crews to win at Henley Women’s, Henley Royal, B.U.C.S. and National Championship regattas every year. He comes from a strong background of rowing as an Olympian; this month he’s here to share his experiences and knowledge with you on RowingChat!

Currently the head coach at Durham University Boat Club, Wade represented Great Britain in the Men’s Single Scull at the Barcelona Summer 1992 Olympic Games. He also runs the Wingfield Sculls event on the Tideway each year.

Known as "The Voice Of Rowing", Robert Treharne-Jones is THE commentator for the most esteemed rowing events the world over. He has commentated at the likes of World Rowing Championship and Olympic regattas while training the dedicated regatta commentary crew at Regatta Radio.

As an IT consultant by profession, Robert resides at Henley-On-Thames while immersing himself in the world of rowing. He has experienced the athletic side of rowing as well, rowing for crews such as The British Rowing Club.

Robert knows all the ins and outs of regattas and keeps track of a massive database of rowing athletes big and small. You'll be able to quiz him on fantastic athletes, question him on his commentary and hear what he has to say on the upcoming Henley Royal Regatta going on just after this RowingChat.

Katie joined the NK team in 1999 after graduating from Temple University. A four year coxswain for the Temple women's crew, Katie continued to coach rowing after graduation and through a rowing contact was offered the job at NK. Selling wind meters sounded just odd enough for her, so she joined the NK team.

Katie has won medals in five World Championships as a drummer for the USA Dragonboat team. As Coxswain, drummer, NK Manager, Wildland Firefighter, World Traveler, fondue fan and wife - Katie wears many hats.

This chat will be brilliant for any rowing clubs to hear how Katie works in the world of rowing and for athletes to know how she turned her passion into a career.

Welcome to one of the most Technique Orientated RowingChats we've ever done, where rowing legend Drew Ginn answers specifics about rowing movement, training, technique and more.

Drew Ginn, Olympic rowing champion and now the National Head Coach of the National Rowing Centre of Excellence in Australia, comes to us for an interview this May on RowingChat.

Drew has unparalleled expertise in the sport (especially from an athlete's perspective). He took home gold at Olympics of 1996 (Coxless four), 2004 (Coxless pair) and 2008 (Coxless pair) and silver in 2012 (Coxless four). For the Rowing World Championships he grabbed gold in 1998 (in Coxed Four with an additional silver in Coxless Pair that year), 1999 (Coxless pair), 2003 (Coxless pair), 2006 (Coxless pair), and 2007 (Coxless pair). Additionally in 2009 Drew took is powerful rowing legs on a test run in Cycling, winning the Oceania time trial championships.

His rowing experience is centered around Men's Pair rowing, however he has raced in many variations of rowing throughout his career.

The decorated Olympic rowing champion has also had much experience with injuries throughout his rowing career which have challenged his ability to compete. He overcame these setbacks, however, and rowed right back onto the world stage.

A master coach educator joins us on RowingChat for April! Jim Flood spends much of his time coaching rowing in disadvantaged and third world countries. His entire approach to coaching in rowing is to bring it up to the standard of other sports, using coaching within those sports as an example to work off. He believes that athletes need to be complicit in the training process and must have a deep understanding of what they are being asked to do. With this, he has found that an athlete's performance and receptiveness to training greatly improve.

As an Olympic gold medalist in rowing the Women's Eight for the U.S.A., Esther Lofgren has some amazing tales to tell about her rowing life. She's passionate about sharing her experiences and knowledge in the sport of rowing, so much so that she maintains her own rowing blog.

She started rowing in 1998 at the age of 13 after being hooked on athletics by age 5 and is the child of two elite rowers (Karl & Christine Lofgren). She was small and not as strong as other athletes at that age. However, through her passion of the sport and a lot of hard work, she became a gold medal winning Olympic rower. In college (California, U.S.A.) she rowed for the Under-23 and Senior national teams, winning two World Championships and several World Championship and Rowing World Cup medals.

Now she's training for the Rio 2016 Olympics and giving it all she's got!

As a sport psychology expert and Olympic medalist in rowing, Kirsten Barnes really knows her stuff! She graduated from University of Victoria, Canada in 1993 and then completed a PhD in sport psychology at University of Bristol, UK in 1998. She competed for Canada at the 1988 and 1992 Olympic Games. She is a double Olympic Gold Medalist from the 1992 Games and World Champion in 1991 at the Rowing World Championships in both the 4- and 8+.

Since then Kirsten has returned to Vancouver using her experience as an athlete and sports psychologist. She has worked with many sports organisations including the English Squash and Rugby Football unions, the British Triathlon and the Badminton Association of England. She has also been the sport psychologist for the Commonwealth Games Council for England, providing support to the headquarters staff, team management and athletes in preparation for and during the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games.
