This is one of the most important questions in Scripture. Jesus is with his disciples and asks them, "Who do you say I am?" The disciples give different answers before Peter lands on the correct answer.

Over the next four weeks, we are going to look at this question concerning who we are. But first, we must understand who Christ is for us.

Prayer is one of those things that we hear a lot about but maybe the one thing that is easily dismissed in our lives.

Our final stop is in Laodicea, we end with the church that Christ has nothing nice to say about it. Lukewarm, what a tepid state of the church. But again, Christ gives grace and words to the church, that can also be words for us.

We arrive at the second to last church in Revelation. The image we see in this passage is an open door. Not just an open door, but one that will not shut. What a great vision for us. Sometimes we feel like we don’t have enough strength to make it through the next day, but thanks be to God, Christ is the one who opened the door for us and keeps it open so that we may receive his abundant blessings.

Ever hear the phrase finish strong? That is what Jesus is telling the church at Sardis. Sometimes we can easily get started but then grow weary with the task. Thanks be to God we have the table to come to be reminded of Christ great love for us so we can then go out and love others.

Listening to false teaching. That is the rebuke that the church of Thyatira receives. We always must be careful when we start talking about what is false and what isn’t. We must be sure that we are connected to Christ and his word.

As we visit the second church of Revelation, the word that comes to mind is suffering. Wow! Isn’t that what we want to hear on a Sunday morning. But there is freedom in suffering, and that freedom comes from Christ

The Book of Revelation is a difficult book. But within that book, there is a message for us. Over the next seven weeks, we will look at the seven churches that are addressed in chapters two and three: our first stop, Ephesus.
