RPS Presents

Today on RPS Presents we have an interview with the brilliant Meg Remy, aka US Girls, about her fantastic new album Bless This Mess, which is released on February 24. Our conversation went from recording while pregnant and the ephemeral nature of happiness to the challenge of “the book”.

Johann Wald and Mar Vallverdú interviewed the legendary rapper, performance artist, poet, songwriter and activist Mykki Blanco at the 2022 Primavera Weekender. They talked about touring, staying true to yourself and new sounds.

Johann Wald caught up with North American independent filmmaker Todd Solondz to talk about his selection of short-form movies for the Curtocircuito festival in Santiago de Compostela.

Vonne Parks and Andre Gainey - aka Florida rap duo They Hate Change - joined up at the Primavera Weekender to talk music nerdery, jungle, DJing and where on earth that name came from.

This Is Not a Song Chart host Sergi Cuxart and Johann Wald sit with Jake Duzsik, founding member, guitarist and lead singer for LA glitch-post-industrial-art rock band HEALTH to marvel at their outstanding career, stellar collaborations with Nine Inch Nails and frustrated dreams of living in Spain.

Guerilla Toss have had a brilliant 2022, with the release of their stellar album Famously Alive and hair-raising tours. RPS met them at the Primavera Weekender, the last date of their tour, to talking getting sober, focus, hardcore fans and the Grateful Dead.

Fast rising British-Japanese artist Miso Extra has been described as making "the best Japanese hip hop in London”. She was far too polite to agree when RPS met her at the Primavera Weekender; but she did talk food, the misoverse, Thundercat, anime and more.

Arab Strap aren't just survivors, they are heroes. Johann Wald and Ben Cardew met the Scottish duo at the Primavera Weekender to talk maturity, reforming and why Aidan will never write a record about family life.

Johann Wald and Mar Vallverdú interview the gifted alt-pop sensation Grave Ives minutes before her first show in Spain, to discuss some of the inspiration behind her critically acclaimed second album, how to always deliver a show when you're the only person on stage and how to make great art in mundane working environments.
