RPS Presents

Ben Cardew talks to Greg Dulli of legendary US band The Afghan Whigs ahead of their Barcelona gig, on October 23 at the Apolo. In a 20-minute conversation, they discuss the band's new album How Do You Burn?, ask whether Greg will ever write an autobiography and ponder the art of crooning, among other things.

RPS proudly presents an interview with perhaps THE band from the first Primavera Sound LA: Japanese four piece Chai, a shape-shifting act who absolutely destroyed the last day of the festival, with their rock / disco / grunge / house / rap pop and matching outfits.

Radio Primavera Sound attended Depeche Mode’s press conference on October 4th in Berlin, where Dave Gahan and Martin Gore revealed that they will be releasing a new album, ‘Memento Mori’, due out in Spring 2023. It will be their first new album after founding member Andy Fletcher’s death last May. Depeche Mode are also the first headliners of Primavera Sound 2023, with shows at both the Barcelona and Madrid editions of the festival, as part of a world tour starting in March 2023. After the press conference we had the chance to speak briefly with Martin Gore, Depeche Mode’s main songwriter for more than forty years.

RPS brings you a conversation with Ruth, Maria, Nathan and Alli aka Special Interest, a spectacular punk dance band from New Orleans. Their new Album Endure, is out on November 3 on  Rough Trade. The interview was recorded live at Primavera LA.

RPS brings you 22 minutes in the company of Sherelle, a London DJ who brought her 160 BPM madness to Primavera LA. We discussed the return of jungle, the art of DJing and becoming big during Covid.

RPS interviewed one of the revelations of Primavera LA: Georgia Barnes, aka Georgia, a one-woman London dance sensation, who devastated the festival crowd with her incredible show. Ben Cardew caught up with her soon after that to get the exclusive - kind of - about her new music.

Ahead of the release of their new album, Last Spa on Earth, RPS caught up with Divino Niño, a band from Chicago who basically sound like the future of music, mixing R&B, reggaeton, indie pop, hip hop, psychedelia and a hefty dose of sunshine. The interview was recorded at the first Primavera LA.

Today we have for you an interview with Primavera favourites BEAK>, aka Geoff Barrow, Billy Fuller and Will Young, recorded on a rickety bench on a Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles at Primavera LA. We talk about everything from Twitter to Smash Hits, Brexit and major labels to Ringo Starr.
