Today we are ruminating on Ephesians 6:18.

This verse comes toward the end of the Armor of God that Paul describes in Ephesians 6:10-17. When we think about the spiritual war we are in, prayer is of the utmost importance. Without it, we will not succeed. Without it, we cannot defeat temptation. Without it, we cannot minister well to one another and encourage one another.

When Paul writes on all occasions or at all times in other translations, it literally means in different seasons. Every season of our lives, whether things are going well or things are going awful, whether we feel like God is present or distant, whether we like Him in those moments or are angry with Him, in every season we are still to continue to pray and pray again and keep on praying.
