Welcome to Ruminate, our video Bible study where we spend time thinking on Scripture. Our prayer is this would be a positive impact in your life each day and encourage you to faithfully follow God no matter the cost.
Today we must continue our journey into Psalm 119 by revisiting verses 1-3.
//
C. H. Spurgeon read through these verses and called this person, the blessed, favored one who walks in the law of the Lord, who keeps His testimonies, who consistently seeks and longs for Him, one who has habitual holiness.3 He continues: “Their walk, their common everyday life is obedience unto the Lord… Whether they eat or drink, or whatsoever they do, they do all in the name of their great Master and Exemplar… the holy life is a walk, a steady progress, a quiet advance, a lasting continuance.”
The Christian life, the living out of this blameless or holy lifestyle, is just that—a steady progress, a quiet advance, a lasting continuance. It is not flashy or always loud and noticeable. Often our faith is made deep and strong by the quiet moments of faithfulness no one will ever know about; the quiet advance of your faith and submission to Jesus Christ.
