Today we are ruminating on Psalm 56:3.

When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You. It is such a simple sentence. It almost sounds like a canned phrase, doesn’t it? One of those, “let go and let God” bits that sound good but maybe don’t really help.

And yet, the Psalmist is writing this. He believes it. He lives it out.

Often we feel anxious about things beyond our control. Trusting God with those things is surrendering the need to be in control and rest in the reality that God IS ultimately in control. He knows what’s up and He isn’t surprised or taken off guard.
