Coming from Tattersalls in Newmarket once more, the world’s oldest bloodstock auctioneer, Francesca Cumani and Vanessa Ryle record this episode inside the famous red room, which has hosted some well-to-do dinners over the years, featuring our very own Vanessa (and her intoxicated mother... Vanessa gets stuck into some more funny stories from her time working at Tattersalls and they discuss her friend Shirley Anderson-Jolag, who last year became the first female bloodstock auctioneer in Britain.

As they get ready for an end of series break, Francesca tells all about her forthcoming visit to Australia, where she will be presenting at the Melbourne Cup carnival and catching up with friends and family while she's there. Vanessa wants a campaign to get her down under herself - but in the mean time she will have to settle for America for the Breeders Cup. So there will be no shortage of stories for when they return!

The women also delve into race day fashion and explore why they think it’s important for the talent to not just play the part, but look the part as well. They also take the opportunity to throw Franscesca’s fellow ITV presenters, Rishi Persad, Ed Chamberlin and Jason Weaver under the bus with their own choices of fashion (sorry lads), in a twist on Cesca Corrects!

There’s an extensive question time, where the women answer a range of audience questions, such as who has been their biggest inspiration in their lives, who would they must like to interview in racing and what they think of accessibility for disabled racegoers.

It’s episode 7 of the third series of the Running Loose Podcast!

The ladies also discuss the upcoming yearling (essentially young horse) sales which occur isnide this ring, involving Book 1 - 3 horses - and there is a lot of money that will exchange hands. But what does it take to have a successful racehorse? Listen on to find out...

Of course, Vanessa has plenty of Tattersall tales from her from her days of working there in her very early days of racing, including being rebellious with her outfits. The location is also familiar to Francesca with her parents stud just around the corner - so there are plenty of stories to be told this week.

Also hot on the agenda this week is all things National Hunt and the Flat race seasons - as well as Francesca’s recent filming with legendary racehorse owner Nicky Henderson with Old Gold Racing, where she filmed a day in the life at his yard.

Away from racing, Francesca updates us on her house renovation - and shares a funny story from the wedding of her stylist and friend Sarah, involving white trousers and gravy - as well as a very painful trip to the dentist! Vanessa reflects on her very busy period recently and how she has been revelling in some quiet time with her horse Cap Du Mathan, the ex-racehorse she got from Paul Nicholls, which you may recall from a previous episode.

It’s Series 2, Episode 8 of the Running Loose podcast and the ladies, Francesca Cumani and Vanessa Ryle, find themselves inside the famous Ascot Racecourse once again.

It’s Series 2, Episode 7 of the Running Loose podcast and the ladies find themselves nestled inside the famous Ascot Racecourse for this edition, which has just hosted the King George racing weekend.

Francesca was there presenting for ITV Racing and Vanessa on hosting duties inside the Howden box.
