Don't ask, Don't tell was a horrible policy created by the Bill Clinton administration. Clinton thought it would be a helpful law to allow LGBTQ member who wanted to serve in the military be able to serve. What it did was push us all further in the closet and not be able to teach anyone about who we are. In 1999, a soldier who fell in love with a trans woman drag performer was brutally murdered by a fellow soldier in his unit. Barry Winchell was called derogatory names but mostly faggot, although Barry was not attracted to men. He was involved with a woman, that was not how the members of his army unit saw it. True Crime Quickie is about the murder of Navy Sailor Allen Schindler in Japan and the 2021 suicide of PFC MP Kaylie Harris in Anchorage, Alaska.
