David protects his people, remembers his debts, and puts down a rebellion in this section of Scripture.

This psalm reveals our need to cry out to God in our prayers. It also emphasizes God's promises and protection. Most importantly, it reveals how the LORD'S mercy and truth preserve us.

David intends to build a temple for the LORD. He tells Nathan the Prophet about his plan. At first, Nathan encourages David to do it, but the LORD tells Nathan that David's son will build it.

This passage contains a great teaching on humility and God's provision for His people.

The central event of the Christian faith is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. This message shows why the resurrection is not only important in the past, but it has relevance to the present and future as well.

After winning battles against the Philistines, David tries to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. His attempt fails at first, but later he succeeds in celebrating the Ark's Presence in Jerusalem.

This chapter contains the story of David finally becoming King over all Israel. He sets up his capitol in Jerusalem and befriends a powerful king named Hiram. The LORD makes David great. However, David's many wives and children foreshadow some very dramatic future events.

After King Saul's death, David was recognized as King of Judah. The other tribes of Israel followed Ishbosheth, Saul's surviving son. Abner, Saul's General, made this happen. This message is about how the war between Israel and Judah began, was fought, and how it ended.

In part 11 of our study of David, we learn about the death of King Saul and three of his sons. We also see the heroism of the men of Jabesh Gilead. Finally, we see David recognized as king of Judah.

David found himself in many worrisome circumstances when he was pursued by King Saul. Yet, eventually, Saul's days came to an end. In this message, we conclude 1 Samuel with the dramatic end of Saul's reign.
