Dr Alison Eardley and DR Lindsay Bywood from the University of Westminster are looking for blind, partially sighted and sighted participants to take part in a collaborative research study between partners in the UK and US about the online accessibility of artworks.

They are looking for art lovers, or people who have no interest in art at all, or who fall somewhere in between to take part. This is a collaborative UK/US project with partners Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village (UK), National Portrait Gallery (US), Access Smithsonian (US), VocalEyes (UK), Smartify, Royal Holloway, University of London, and the University of Westminster.

RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey caught up with Alison and Lindsay to find out more about the research project, what people will be asked to do if they do take part and how all the research will help to enhance the online access and experience of artworks for blind and partially sighted people plus sighted people too.

The online study takes approximately one hour and it is best done on a computer/laptop, if possible and a thank you voucher of £10 will be offered to those people who take part in the research.
