The pastor of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church thinks the first part of Mayor Jim Strickland’s effort to reform the Memphis Police Department didn’t go far enough. Strickland has said it was a start followed Wednesday, Sept. 2, by his appointment of a 13-member advisory group to examine deeper reforms. Pastor J. Lawrence Turner, who was named to the advisory group, says he will stick with the effort.
