On a lonely stretch of West Virginia road behind train tracks long abandoned a man long in years sits with his grandson carving a pumpkin just like this one. The Great War has not yet come to pass, but this will be his final Halloween on Earth. Before he goes, he has one final act of kindness for a world he will leave behind. A reckoning is about to occur, one that many years later will have consequences for Chad, Simon and the gang.
