Our standing before God as believers is not dependent upon our performance. Emma Dotter walks us through today's passage and shows us that the wise filter their circumstances through the lens of the Cross recognizing that God is good even when we are not, even when our circumstances are not, even when we seem to have lost all hope; the wise may declare that our God is good, loving, kind, He is our rescuer and our redeemer.
Ephesians 2:8-9 - “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Titus 3:5 - “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 8:1 - “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 4:1 - Reference to Paul identifying himself as a prisoner of the Lord.
