What is the Old Covenant and why do covenants matter? In today’s episode, Emma Dotter talks about God’s grace and mercy toward the Israelites who continually fail to keep the covenant they made with God. He is a God of mercy and love who creates the covenant He made with His people in order to protect them and redirect their hearts towards Him.
Additional Scripture Referenced:
Hebrews 10:1-4 – “For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities… it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.”
Jeremiah 31:31-34 – “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah… I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
Luke 22:20 – “And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”
