It’s finally here!!! With under 21 days to go till the start of the season – “Under the Microscope” is back for another season on all teams across the NBL1 Central League. First up it’s the Southern Tigers and Eastern Mavericks Women and Men we look over their complete rosters and chances in 2026.

TP & Jimmy Buckets analyse all four teams with both Women’s seemingly in different development positions with a clear focus and pathway forward while the Mens the questions are asked with core’s returning on different sides is this their time to return to finals action in 2026?

Both also take in the preseason games at Port Adelaide plus the usual SA Basketball News…

Then after watching & listening on the Collective to the Throwdown – the scenario of who needs the win in the last game of the regular season has changed significantly

One thing is for certain – a significant local player reminded us that it ain’t over till it’s over and perhaps we should keep our mouth shut – however we do have a podcast to record so we opened them slightly this week…

TP is then joined by Jimmy Buckets to go “Under the Microscope” for the first time this year with the TOP NBL1 Central Games to watch for in 2026 & to consider if any have been missed and why TP chose these the games for different reasons plus in SA Basketball News touch on the latest signings for the league as we move closer to tip-off in mid-March. 

They relive the incredible final quarter comeback of the Adelaide 36ers against the New Zealand Breakers as the full final term is replayed then dissected by both.

In part two - TP reviews the latest on the Adelaide 36ers and briefly reviews their one-point loss to the Illawarra Hawks and looks ahead to a "prove your point" match-up against Melbourne United.

Then Ashlee Strawbridge of the Adelaide Lightning joins us to share about her season, the Lightning group the last few weeks and about the last game of the season tomorrow against the Southside Melbourne Flyers.

Then special guest from the West Trystan Spooner stops by again to comb over the NBL and WNBL results for both Adelaide teams – whilst also living out the OT thriller between the Cairns Taipans and the Tasmania Jack jumpers with a couple of former NBL1 Central players going head-to-head.

They also ask the question – “is the clipboard on gameday needed anymore???” given the words of Goorjian and Wells in recent pressers perhaps for certain players the IQ is already there to make the right decision on the right play – let the debate begin…

Featuring NBL1 West Commentators Paul Persic, Trystan Spooner and Tahlia Kelly – each game had something different and the atmosphere was electric.
