This Sunday, Lindsay Anderson wrapped up our Broken, but Beautiful sermon series by focusing on the letter to the Church in Laodicea. The spirit of God is speaking to us today. Are we hearing him? Are we listening?

This past Sunday, Steve continued our Broken, but Beautiful sermon series and focused on the church of Philadelphia. We learned that Jesus, the holy and true one became the bridge between God the Father and humanity. He’s the one who holds the keys that opened the door to salvation and that door is still open today. Each of us needs to walk through that open door. The question is have you or will you?Are we willing to trust Jesus? Are we willing to say yes to following him and repent and change direction as we seek Jesus?

The church of Sardis had the appearance of being alive and doing great things, but God saw through the surface and said they was dead. Despite having heard the good news and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit who comes to heal, save, and restore, they had forgotten. Jesus called them to remember what they had seen and received and refocus on him.

Jesus calls us to fix our gaze on him and reject the idea of living a compartmentalized life. Are you willing to commit to living a surrendered, authentic (not perfect) life as we walk daily with him?

This week we took time to commemorate Remembrance day through prayer and song.

This week, Steve looked at the Church of Pergamam and asked four questions:1. Are there activities in your life that are leading you away from God?2. Are you rationalizing sin?3. How do you view yourself? Are you buying into the current cultural beliefs that you can separate your body from your soul and spirit?4. Are you fixing your gaze on Jesus?5. As a church are we willing to stand firm in Jesus and his ways despite outside cultural forces?

Steve continues our Broken, but Beautiful sermon series by looking at the Church in Smyrna. This church was being perscuting but was turning their eyes to Jesus. We are told to mourn with those who mourn and rejoice with those who rejoice. This Sunday we joined the persecuted church in mourning and prayer.If you're watching the YouTube video, we apologize for the disruption during the worship set. This week we are going to look at the letter to the church in the city of Ephesus from Revelation 2:1-7, & how the church is beautiful and broken and what is in store for those who overcome.Over the past several years we've seen the church is broken. We've watched several famous leaders fall, we've learned about the tragedies that happened in Residential schools, and we've seen people leaving the church, especially younger generations. The church is broken, yes, because the church is the people and people are broken. But there is still value in the church. As the bride of Christ, the church may be broken, but it's still beautiful. Join us as we journey through the churches in the book of Revelation.

This Thanksgiving, Lindsay talked about remembering to take the time to give thanks for what we have, but also to be thankful even when life gets hard.
