Today in our disability feature we are looking into assistive methods/medication for people with injuries affecting their skeletal parts, or spinal cord injuries as well, being Orthopaedics.
Orthopaedics can be defined as the medical specialty concerned with correction of deformities or functional impairments of the skeletal system, especially the extremities and the spine, and associated structures, as muscles and ligaments.
A human being has more than 300 bones and joints in the body. If just one of them isn’t functioning properly, this could lead in for a world of pain and discomfort. This is where Orthopaedic treatment comes in.

Lately people get derailed by challenges they come across in life from pursing their dreams. Those challenges they include loosing ability of their body organs, resulting in disability while others may just be a matter of things not working out and people give up. Today we have a chat with a man who lost sight/went blind from as early as he was three years old. But the blindness did not get in the way of him being one of the greatest musicians of the country from back in the days.

Today in our disability feature we are looking at the Intergration our amputees back into the society and assisting them to carry on with their lives as simple as possible. Having been a fully able person, then all of the sudden you are disabled and have to constantly rely on other people to help you get my can be equally frustrating to a point whereby others can end up committing suicide.
For someone who has been there, they understand quite well the trauma and depression coming with adapting to life on an amputee, hence Mr Mpho Kobue as an amputee himself decided to start an organization with an aim of bringing hope and change in the lives of amputees.
Mr Kobue founded Lets Walk Together, a non-profit organization based in Ga-Rankuwa; east of Pretoria. Mr Kobue had identified with great concern the difficulties amputees face after undergoing surgery, neglect and no appropriate counselling amputees when facing the daunting task of starting their lives as amputees.
