The Kings go into Memphis and just take the Grizzlies lunch money. The Kings put on a clinic on the offensive end, moving the ball around for open 3s and slicing the Grizzlies in the paint. But more importantly, they shut down the Memphis offense who couldn't get anything going on the inside or outside the arc.

This game was a preview of what the Kings can be at their best, and it's a great game to close out 2023 and build momentum going 2024.

It's started out really ugly again, it looked like the Kings were still suffering the effects of losing to the Blazers. Their defense was again putting up little to no resistance, they were missing shots from 3, and the Hawks jumped to a 31-8 lead. It looked like it was going to be a long night ...

But the Kings didn't give up, they slowly clawed their way back throughout the game. Despite some really bad turnovers along the way and 18 offensive rebounds by the Hawks, the Kings were able to take the lead in the 4th and went up 3 with a Chris Duarte 3 pointer in the corner to go up for good with 3:27 to go.

It's been a rough transition from the Kings team of last year where they went balls to the wall on offense last year every game. This year they've been less potent on offense but have shown more flashes on the defensive end and this is the kind of game they most likely lose last year. This game will help push the point that sometimes when shots aren't falling you need to be able to lean more on your defense to get you back into it and that's what this game was.

The Kings are looking for more of these kinds of games to take the next step and there's no doubt that this game will be a nice confidence booster for the team and what they're trying to reach.

Every year, there's always losses to team that make you say "how the hell did you lose to this team?!" It happens to all good and bad teams, there's just losses where there really isn't a logical reason why our favorite teams played so bad against an opponent they should have easily dispatched.

Well, the Kings looked to have had one of this game as they give us this turd sandwich of a loss to the shorthanded and tanking Blazers team in Portland.

How did they lose? Well, it's the cavalcade of crap that has plaqued the Kings in many of their losses, not being able to hit shots from 3, bad defense, bad rebounding, just bad energy, you name it, it was all bad.

What it all boils down to is that the Kings seemed to not take the Blazers seriously, who came out and played hard all game and just outplayed and outhustled the Kings.

It's a terrible look for the Kings, who will need to do a lot of soul searching in order to regroup for the next game. But it is important to keep in mind that these losses happen occasionally even to the best of teams. The thing that separates the good from the truly bad teams is how they respond, so let's hope that's what the Kings do on Friday against the Hawks in Atlanta.

Another back to back for the Kings and another 1-1 split. On the first night in G1C, the Kings simply outplayed a short handed Suns team who had even more injuries than usual. The Suns simply couldn't match the King's speed on offense and the game was never in doubt after halftime.

On the 2nd night however against the Wolves in the same building, the #1 defense in the NBA held the Kings to 98 points and under 44% shooting from the field. The Kings were outscored in the paint, from 3, and on fastbreak points but were in it late in the game but ultimately fell short.

It's another loss on the 2nd night of a back to back but the spirit and resilience of the Kings was encouraging and the hope is they build on this for the next set of back to backs.

Everything was set up for the Kings to make a statement against the Celtics. The Celtics were on a 2nd night of a back to back, they went into overtime against the Warriors the night before and they were without Tatum and Horford in the lineup.

The Kings decided to get into a shootout against the Celtics, and for every 3 1 team made, the other matched it. It was one of the greatest battles from 3 that has ever taken place. The difference in the game however was everything else. The Celtics scored inside the arc better, rebounded better and most importantly, played much better defense.

So while the Kings were up to the task of matching the Celtics from the outside, they got destroyed in so many other aspects of the game. And that was what this game was, a reality check for the Kings that they're not a championship level team like the Celtics are.

Not only can they shoot the lights out on any given night, but they can also lock down on defense and do the little things right, and that's what separates the Kings from the Celtics.

The Kings have a ways to go to get to that level.

It didn't look great to start the game, the Wizards and the Kings came out guns blazing, and the Kings weren't hitting their 3s ... A bad sign on most nights. However the Kings settled down and began to attack the basket and the 3s eventually started falling and the game was never really in doubt after the 1st half.

There wasn't much defense to be spoken of, but the Wizards had no hope of stopping the Kings offense when it rounded into form. The Wizards stayed in it for a time with crazy shots from the outside, but that wasn't enough to match the King's collective attack.

This is now the 3rd win in a row of this 6 game homestand, but now the big guns come to town, starting with the Celtics on Wednesday. If the Kings play defense like they did this game, it ain't gonna be pretty.

We'll need a fully focused Kings teams to be able to match up with these teams coming up, let's see if they're up to challenge.

It was the Keegan Murray game, he set a career high in points with 47, he set the franchise record for made 3s in a game with 12, he also becomes the youngest player make 12 or more 3s in a game. Even Steph Curry was impressed.

Beyond just the Keegan Murray explosion, the rest of the Kings without DeAaron Fox played really good defense along with executing their offense to a tee, finishing with 36 assists on 46 made FGs. It was just one of those magical nights for the Kings.

The Kings will face the Wizards next on Monday on game 3 of this 6 game homestand. Let's hope the Kings take care of business before getting a murder's row of teams coming into the G1C.

After the disappointing loss against the Clippers, the Kings rebound with an impressive win against a very good Thunder team. The Kings fought through 43 points from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, unkind whistles from the refs and giving up 16 offensive rebounds to OKC to grind out the tough victory.

The King's offense was humming throughout the game and they matched every flurry OKC threw at them with their own. They got huge contributions from Malik Monk and Keon Ellis, topped off with brilliant performances from DeAaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis to overcome the forces going against them.

It's a showing of the mental fortitude the Kings can have in these kinds of scenarios where things aren't going their way. The hope going forward is that growing pains that they've gone through this season leads to more games like this where they're able to overcome adversity and have less games where they succumb to it like against the Clippers.

The Kings bounce back after the deflating loss to the Pelicans on Monday with a solid victory over a skeleton crew Suns team led by Devin Booker. Knowing that Booker was the only real creator on the Suns, the Kings doubled him as often as possible and it wore him down as the game progressed and torpedoed their offense.

It wasn't the prettiest game for the Kings, who struggled on offense to start the game but came alive in the 2nd half to overtake the Suns and win going away.

It's just the kind of game the Kings need after the ugly loss to the Pelicans.

One of the players taking the brunt of the criticism from the Pelicans loss was Harrison Barnes. Fans were calling for him to be removed from the starting lineup and/or traded to another team for a better player. Sac Kings Therapy is here to defend him and preach his value to the Kings.
