Elihu Extols God's Greatness.
We really hope Elihu gets smacked because he is an insufferable twat. This kid says he has perfect knowledge of God's wishes and if that ain't some uppity b.s. then I don't know what is. Elihu speaks on God's behalf but then talks about him like he's describing Zeus. Such childish nonsense! Job should really tell Elihu to suck his left nut.

In these chapters, Job continues to defend his innocence and question why he is suffering. He claims that he has lived a righteous life, avoiding sins such as lust and deceit. He also challenges his accusers to provide evidence of his wrongdoing. Job acknowledges that God is powerful and just, but he questions why God allows the righteous to suffer.
Job's friend Elihu then speaks, arguing that God is just and merciful, and that suffering can serve as a means of discipline or instruction. Elihu also suggests that Job may not be seeing the full picture and encourages him to seek understanding from God. However, Elihu's words do not provide a definitive answer to the question of why the righteous suffer.
From an atheist perspective, these chapters of Job may be seen as an exploration of the problem of evil, which raises questions about why bad things happen to good people. Job's speeches can be seen as an attempt to grapple with this issue and defend his own sense of morality, while Elihu's response reflects a more traditional religious view that suffering can have a divine purpose. Ultimately, however, the book of Job does not offer a conclusive answer to this complex theological question.
Elihu Justifies God (cont).
According to Elihu, God ignores the people who cry out to God because those people are wicked, bad, and wrong, plus also evil or whatever. Which would make sense except that we read the prologue wherein God specifically states that Job is blameless and upstanding, so we are sick of people giving Job shit. As a matter of fact, Wife gets pretty riled up about it and says a lot of poorly phrased nonsense and goes into a diatribe about community college? Wife is clearly a mess, but not more so than Elihu, so suck it.

Job Chapter 35 in the Bible discusses the speeches of Elihu, one of Job's friends. In this chapter, Elihu continues to address Job's complaints about God's injustice and silence. Elihu argues that God is just and that Job's suffering is a result of his own sins. He also criticizes Job for demanding answers from God and questioning his justice.
From an atheist perspective, this chapter may raise several questions and criticisms. Firstly, atheists do not believe in the existence of God or any deity, so the idea of a divine being's justice or injustice is irrelevant. Therefore, the arguments presented by Elihu may not hold any significance for atheists.
Secondly, Elihu's argument that Job's suffering is a result of his own sins is based on the assumption that God punishes people for their sins. Atheists reject the concept of sin and divine punishment. Instead, atheists may argue that Job's suffering is a result of natural causes, such as disease, poverty, or other external factors beyond his control.
Finally, Elihu's criticism of Job for questioning God's justice may not be convincing to atheists. Atheists may argue that questioning authority and demanding answers is a fundamental aspect of critical thinking and rational inquiry. They may reject the idea of blind faith and argue that skepticism and inquiry are necessary for progress and development.
In conclusion, Job Chapter 35 may not hold any significant relevance or meaning for atheists. The arguments presented by Elihu may not be convincing or relevant to those who reject the concept of God and divine justice. Nevertheless, the chapter may serve as a source of insight into religious beliefs and the arguments presented by religious thinkers.
Elihu Justifies God.
This kid is simply insufferable. Elihu literally has no idea what he's talking about! He chastises Job for complaining about the injustice Job has suffered, even tho Job is completely justified in demanding an explanation. Then he accuses Job of condemning God, which Job never did. Failing to criticize God is what this whole book is supposed to be about! And it is one of our (many and sundry) complaints! We really hope Job hauls off and smacks Elihu in the next chapter.

Elihu Reproves Job.
Who tf does this uppity sumbitch think he is? How dare he just walk up and accost Job? Elihu didn't really say anything that the other guys hadn't already covered — to wit, you reap what you mf sow! Boozy claims that God talks to us and that angels are running around playing heads-up-seven-up with our souls and a chance at redemption. It's just so ridiculous.
However, we did have an impromptu discussion about the definition of the word soul, and that was pretty interesting.

Elihu Justifies His Right to Answer Job.
This kid that hasn't ever been mentioned in 30+ chapters spends an entire episode arguing that he has the right to speak.
First, it's none of this boozer's business. He's uninvited. Nobody even asked his opinion.
Second, nobody said he couldn't speak. This whole chapter is the underaged boozer's argument that he should be allowed to have his say. He's literally creating a fight where none exists.
Color us unimpressed. Based on this introduction, we do not anticipate a strong follow-up.

Job Asserts His Integrity.
Job makes his eyes promise to stop looking lustfully at women — because clearly Job is not in charge of his eyes. Job suggests his wife should "grind another man's grain" and that (if he's in the wrong) other men should totally sleep with her — because if you mess up, it's totally cool to throw your spouse under the sex bus. Job wants a show of hands for anyone who hasn't been filled with his meat — presumably so he can go ahead and top them off. Job is raunchy af.
