Today we’re joined by Dr. Jennifer Grandis! Dr. Grandis is a physician, surgeon, cancer researcher, and author of Harsh Medicine: Why Women Can’t Get Ahead in Science and Health Care. Women now make up the majority of medical school graduates, so you might think sexism in medicine has been solved. Nay. Dr. Grandis interviewed over 100 doctors & scientists about what actually happens post-graduation... we see job titles without real authority, unequal access to resources, harassment, stalled promotions, and institutions that claim meritocracy right up until a gal has the balls to ask for equal pay. Important to discuss because representation is not the same as power, and we love a woman in power :)
