Imagine living in a world where everyone knows your name. Our world is becoming more and more connected every day. Ask yourself: if you were a high-profile individual, how would you keep your data secure? What if your day-to-day safety was at risk? Are there bad actors that would be able to take control of your finances or your business?
.
These are the questions that keep Bryan Hurd up at night. As Chief of Office in Seattle for Aon’s Cyber Solutions, Hurd and the team help corporations, individuals, and their families stay safe from cyber terrorism and threats using special security details, organizational education, and more.

If we were to tell you that there was a new technology that could reduce carbon emissions, create more jobs, and save consumers and businesses money, you’d be ecstatic. If we were to tell you that you can do that through autonomous trucking, you’d hardly believe us. Locomation is working hard to make the impossible, possible.
.
Finch Fulton, Vice President of Policy and Strategy at Locomation, discusses how autonomous trucking is changing the future of the supply chain. Numbers-wise, we’re talking about removing 180,000 metric tons of carbon from the atmosphere annually. That’s the equivalent of removing 39,000 passenger vehicles off the road! Not to mention how these technologies will improve the quality of life for drivers (and bottom lines of businesses).
.
Introducing Knowledge Bombs: those “ah hah!” statements that cause an explosion in your brain and get your gears turning. Grayson dives into these subjects on this new segment of SAE Tomorrow Today.

Think about the computing software required to run your car. Your vehicle likely runs on about 100 million lines of code — 100 times more than the Space Shuttle, 4 times more than a commercial aircraft, and the equivalent of nearly 18,000 printed pages. In the near future, the tech installed in automated vehicles will contain between 300 and 500 million lines of code — and there’s surely more to come.
.
Tim Frasier, Regional President of North America for Bosch USA’s new Cross-Domain Computing Solutions division, discussed how his new team combines software, electrical, and electronics engineers to create a consistent IT architecture throughout the vehicle. These bright minds and brilliant engineers came together at Bosch’s Hackathon to create a new product idea that scored highest in its category at the 2020 CES Best of Innovation Awards.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES are rising in popularity more and more every year — it’s no surprise that the market for used EVs is growing along with it. Scott Case, founder and CEO of Recurrent, wants to make the process accessible to everyone.
.
Before Recurrent, there was never a CARFAX-like report for EVs. EVs have different quality standards than a typical combustion engine vehicle — climate, charge rate, battery age and more all impact the longevity of a car. Listen in to hear how Case and Recurrent give the power of information back to the consumer using battery reports and machine learning.
.
Plus, hear why Case actually likes spending time negotiating with dealers on used cars. Wild, right?
