Nothing gets one to sleep quickly and soundly than the sound of nature sounds that are only heard after dark. They are unique and rare to many city dwellers. 

These sounds will reconnect you with nature in a peaceful way that will lull you to sleep or those crucial 40 winks on your desk or recliner after lunch.

The cricket, frogs and cicadas rhythms and rhymes of the night are also suitable for just unwinding. Chances of finding inspiration and sparking creativity from the unending cadence are high.

The seemingly choreographed synchrony is a veritable metaphor for melodious indulgence. Enjoy the show.

In my quest to get nature sounds from pristine nature locations, I have found that there are not many places left that could be described as purely pristine. 

The hand of humanity has already touched almost everywhere. There are still a few places left that one could experience nature with minimal or subdued human sounds in the distance.

Kenya's national parks and reserves could very well be described as pristine. However, there are cost implications for regular visits to film and record nature sounds.

Conversely, there is absolutely nothing wrong with human made sounds as long as they are regulated to avoid noise pollution. Human made sounds should blend and be part of our natural world. Yes, "no human is limited"...@Eliud Kipchoge.

It was on Christmas day. We watched a male lion track down a herd of three male impalas from late afternoon. The location is at the Nairobi National Park southern border. We watched from the safety of a secure terrace. 

And a hyena scout is never too far away from a lion on a hunting prowl. If the lion makes a kill, then he would howl loudly to report to his mates.

As evening set in and darkness enveloped the valley, the lion managed to corner one of the bucks and made a kill. The scene was hidden by a thick acacia woodlot and no one would dare venture close to a lion with prey.

No sooner had the male lion put the impala down and the hyena was louder than several vuvuzelas that echoed across the valley.

Unfortunately for the lion, he was on hyena territory where they call home and patrol. A multitude of them were on the scene almost instantly. 

The lion put on a brave fight but he was surrounded, and overwhelmed by a mob of howling hyenas. No idea how much of the bloody banquet he was able to enjoy. 

The hyenas were left to feast and squabble over King of the jungle's hard won meal on Christmas Day.

Oloosirikon is located in Kajiado County in Kenya, adjacent to the Nairobi National Park southern border. 

Migrating birds take time to roost in the savannah grassland valleys before continuing with their journeys. 

For the time they are in the vicinity, they provide an incredible acoustic boost to the local birds that inhabit the woodlots. 

There are plenty of pristine wilderness patches left in Kajiado despite the encroaching Nairobi County urban sprawl.

Agroforestry is one of the smartest solutions to climate change mitigation. The farmer benefits and biodiversity thrives, harmful carbon is sequestered and soil erosion is controlled. 

In a healthy farm such as this where this recording has been done, birds find a beautiful and bountiful place to call home with all the trees, shrubbery and crops growing in the farm.

Their daily response is songs of joy and peace. Healing melodies from the heart and soul of some of nature's most beautiful creatures. And they never tire of it from sunrise to sunset.

At 4 minutes and 2 seconds into this episode, the birds seem to laugh off a little puppies barks and a cows mooing.

This episode is recorded in a private forest sanctuary in Meru County in Kenya.

It is just after dawn and the birds welcome a new day with what they do best and that is sing. I do not know any human being who wakes up and sings so early in the morning. 

It is my contention that the day we humans learn to emulate birds and start our days with a song will herald a new trend of a peaceful and joyful lifestyle. 

But we are not very far from it because we tend to switch on to music as we prepare breakfast, as we drive to work, and when we sit down to unwind after a long days work. 

However, nature sounds are freely available every day and in abundance anywhere ecosystems are still functioning as they should. So let us all support ecosystem restoration and joyful nature melodies will be our portion perpetually.

This episode is recorded early in the morning before sunrise

Every dawn starts off with fantastic nature sounds, mostly from birds. They seem to be the happiest to see a new day as they break out with their songs. 

Each bird belts out a unique blend of melody that is in rhythm with all the others. Waking up to these sounds is quite uplifting to the spirit that sets the pace for the day ahead.
And each day is different because there is always a migrating new species in the vicinity to enrich the melodious variety. 

The best time to listen to undisturbed nature sounds in the morning is before most people wake up and human-made sounds become audible.

This is an easy listening mid-day composition by birds that inhabit an acacia woodlot in Kajiado County in Kenya. 

Even the insects add their buzz to punctuate the slow jam ochestra. There are those providing the bass, others soprano, baritones and rhythms.

The birds have come back to their roosts after a busy morning hunting for their sustenance

The sun is up and the midday heat is best avoided under tree canopies. Its just so easy to take a nap in the midst of these peaceful melodies.

Karurimo River flows from the lower Mount Kenya forest. It joins the bigger Kathita River downstream which in turn runs further down to swell the might Tana River that runs all the way into the Indian Ocean. 

Karurimo River valley had recently borne the brunt of construction of a major sewer line to serve Meru city, the county headquarters. There was so much damage to the springs and the water table has gone down drastically. 

There was no restoration of the ecosystem by the government but the community has done a lot to restore the damage. The springs are flowing again and biodiversity is re-establishing in the restored habitats.
