  • The Readings at AA meetings are 50 % lies. So why are they still read?
The preamble, The 12 traditions and Chapter 5 ...oh yea the web they weave.
Not until I attended a Smart Recovery and and SOS meeting and began reading Orange Papers did I realize the lies that are read over and over again.  In doing my Make AA Safer Workshops , I began to hear the traditions in a new light.
We just came back from filming in louisville and arkansas with some new stories.

  • AA is a religion...sure sounds like it Part 3 How you can fight back if coerced.
Part 3 of our discussion on the great debate. It turns out that religious and spiritual are the same thing in many dictionaries all the way back in time to even 1935.
Join host, Monica Richardson,  for a 1 hour epiosde as we wrap up this word that makes a probation officer feel okay to tell a person who got a DUI ticket to attend a "highly religious" lay person peer support, unregulated, unsafe group, where there also might be sex offenders and violent offenders waiting there to share thier spiriutality with you. Oh happy day! Doctors, Attorneys, Pilots and anyone with a license , it turns out is being bullied to go to AA. How and why did this get so deep and how can you fight back.

  • How Many "Musts" are there in the first 164 pages of the Big Book
IN 1975 when I first encountered AA, most poeple tried to tell me, AA was more of a "take what you like and leave the rest" kinda thing.  What a bait and switch racket they had going on. In fact when I think back, many of the successful oldtimers, with rattling coins in their pockets and Cadillacs in the parking lots gave us that impression. Even those who were poor seemed to have something at stake to make me stay as an 18 or 21 year old...the years I doubted I belonged. But once they 13 stepped me, broke me down with their arm chair pop pschology and said I was hooked, they swiftly gave me positions that no 20 year old with 2 years of sobriety should have been given. I was DCM for Honolulu then, and then they made me PI for the State, sending me off to Lawyers Conferences to attract lawyers to AA...wow ...The facts are, AA's literature is filled with 500 or more crazy references to GOD sugar coated with higher power phrases and wacky "you must or you'll DIE!!!" Listen as we tear up and make fun of an entrenced monolithic sneaky baby cult, pretending to be a "fellowship".

  • How I healed myself while I was in AA with other books and therapy.
I attended AA for 36 years. Abstinent. After I worked the steps in and out 3 times in a row ( over the years I did them over again as well) I found myself lacking and seeing "the steps" for what they were. Pretty useless and in many ways harmfull for a young teen like myself who was already good at blaming myself. At 4 years sober and 22 years old I began my quest for real help and answers. At first I read books like The Greatest Secret in the World by Og Mandino, then I began doing outside spitiual healings which did help. I excercised regularly and I searched for truth. Still I suffered with great emotional pain that no one in AA had any answers for  and in fact made me feel worse at times. I will share and discuss the many paths, books, theraputic means I took that finaly got me to a place where I realized I had childhood trauma, I got help from a real PhD, I did rage work and then found out that I was NEVER BROKEN. Two shorts years after studing TM or Quantum Mediation, I left AA never to return and now know for myself that AA is a very dangerous , unhealthy, toxic, unsafe, religious type cultish thing. I am not calling it a "program or a fellowship or a support group" my expereince is proof that AA is very close to all the terms that would say it is a "cult"!
