  • Another ex stepper tells their story Live Podacst
Join Monica Richardson and a long time  ex stepper who left AA after 30 years. The Salad Years : Monica and Steve discuss their long-time associations with AA. Steve Clark spent nearly 30 years in AA after being "diagnosed" as a teenager by a family member. Throughout what should have been his most productive years he barely ever got above water both professionally and personally. In 2009 he came clean about being an atheist in AA, and by 2012 his relationship with the organization began to deteriorate. After leaving AA his career and personal relationships are stable and rewarding.

  • Covering more ground, Music, Entertainment, Culture and Social trends.
We have been doing podcasts for six years now. March 2011 was my first show. Its been a long road to finishing the film The 13th Step and getting distribution.  After years of focusing on Exposing AA, its dangers and its alternatives, it dawned on me in London this year there were filmmakers I wanted to interview, artists I have wanted to promote. So now we will expand and talk about other topics to carry through my own interests and hopefully yours. I was a singer long before I became a filmmaker , activist. I love social change. I love film, TV  and Music. I love the idea of changing the world around alcohol and drug overuse issues. I love talking to authors. Not just writers who have written about addiction and its cures. So join me as I continue with the Safe Recovery theme  ...and expand my horizons and interests.  I have grown to know and love and like so many of you. Join me for my new adventure of this after life after LEAVING AA... Next Chapter...The REAL WORLD, Thank you. Warmest, Monica Richardson

  • Rehab, Sober Living and Drug Testing Fraud -were you harmed
Join Host Monica Richardson for a 30 minsute show about How  12 step rehab has created many deaths. Parents all across the country are trying to figure out how this happened. From Florida, to the Chris Bathum Case seen on 20/20 ABC, the FBI is cracking down on these fraudulent places. Goverend only by The Department of Health in California. It seems things need to become more "real" then just AA members working in a "rehab " which was created in 1935. Some places there is little or so therapy. AA meetings are treated as "treatment" and you might be driven to a Sober Living near by where a violent offedner is waiting to hook up with your daughter. See 48 Hours The Sober Truth episode about Karla Brada. If there corruption? Why is Athem Bllue Cross paying 9 times for a place that provides NO medical treatment. Why is a pee test that cost $5 being charding to Medicade $1,000.

  • AA Not the Only Way -with author Melanie Beth Soloman
Join host Monica Richardson for a 1 hour show . Melanie's Bio After battling a twelve-year addiction, and being trapped in the "recovery merry-go-round" nightmare, I have finally woken up after almost dying several times. My second edition of "AA-Not the Only Way" which is also at www.aanottheonlyway.com has just become available, where you will learn about my life, as it has taken both its ups and downs, and how I have come out on the other side ok. There is also a multitude of alternative self-help groups to find out about, and other ways to assist you in either stopping your drinking or using, or moderating it to a harmless level. In this new edition, I have also added alternatives such as hypnosis, acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Add to that a directory of licensed professionals and treatment facilities, if that is determined to be what you need, both within the U.S. and abroad, including all of their contact information...https://www.amazon.com/Melanie-Solomon/e/B002VZ5HAK
So she became the consummate researcher, finding new purpose in compiling information on evidence-based alternative recovery options that might better suit the complex and individualized needs of people suffering with substance abuse problems.  In the process, she discovered that she was far from being alone in her AA "failure."   Indeed, it was instead a customized path that would help her create enduring sobriety.  The result was her book, "AA Not the Only Way- Your One Stop Resource Guide to 12-Step Alternatives," an Amazon.com bestseller in its 2nd Edition.
