IN THIS EPISODE: How CHINESE MEDICINE gives each of us the COURAGE TO LISTEN - not merely to what our doctors say, but to what our own bodies are telling us. Our bodies can be subtle sometimes in making it clear what's ailing us. By putting us in touch with our bodies - and keeping us in touch with them - Chinese medicine facilitates finding the courage to listen and get healthy.
SHOW NOTES:
Here’s a question: when in the grips of a health crisis – or any crisis for that matter – when every cell in our body is firing on all cylinders - when what we are living is eliciting deep seated emotions of fear and uncertainty — when any or all of that is happening to us, do we have the courage to listen?
When we find ourselves in such a situation, can we move away from reactivity? From judgement? Can we move away from shutting down? Or the need to control?
Can we listen?
Can we make space for each other to feel more - particularly when what we are feeling is deeply uncomfortable and threatens our sense of control and/or our sense of self.
Can we listen?
This is the invitation we give through Chinese medicine. By the very way it sees us, by its compassion, Chinese medicine invites us to a space that gives us the ability to experience ourselves and our bodies in ways we never imagined possible.
Like all Ancient Traditions show us, the practice of Chinese medicine is a practice that is rooted in observation, in listening.
And, to benefit from the wisdom inherent in this medical tradition, first we are invited to find the courage to do just that, to listen.
