In this episode of Sailor Moon’s Cosmic Power Rewind, we’re diving into Sailor Moon R 2x17, “Women Must Be Strong and Beautiful: Rei’s New Special Technique,” where Rei finally gets a major power-up while Grandpa’s ridiculous self-defense class somehow turns into the center of another Dark Kingdom-style disaster. Between Chibiusa trying to toughen up, Koan corrupting the shrine’s training hall, and Grandpa earning plenty of eye-rolls along the way, this Sailor Moon R episode is goofy, chaotic, and honestly pretty fun. The big highlight though is Sailor Mars unlocking Burning Mandala, giving Rei one of her coolest moments in the series so far.
