  • Two from Charles Garinger - a music podcast

A music podcast featuring two songs by our music director, Charles Garinger, recently recorded by Rob Kwade in his home studio with the musical assistance of Tatiana Friesen and Rachel Titterton.  First up is "Prayer of Humble Access," based on a text from the communion liturgy in the Book of Common Prayer. That is then followed by "Therefore Keep Hope," which is a song for early in the season of Advent.

  • An update from Ukraine!

One of our solid saint ben’s people has gone off on a three year journey to Ukraine, working as the Peace Engagement Coordinator for Europe with the Mennonite Central Committee. A good many of us had the opportunity to bid Andrea Shalay farewell in the summer, but we thought it would be a good idea to produce an occasional podcast series.

In this first podcast we get a basic picture of how life is going and what Andrea is beginning to learn in her new setting. We’ll be back with another podcast sometime around Christmas, to hear about the celebration of that feast day in a whole different sort of world!

Head to the web post for this podcast for a bit more information.

  • "But now my eye sees You" | a sermon by Helen Kennedy

A sermon by Helen Kennedy  from Sunday October 24, 2021, on  Job 42:1-6, 10-17 and Mark 10:46-52.

Helen has a long history with saint ben's, having first been raised up to consider ordained ministry back in 2004. Over the years she has come to the church as a guest many times, but this may be one of her last visits for a while. Last Saturday she was elected as the new Bishop in the Diocese of Qu'Appelle, and so will be moving to Regina in the early winter.

  • Placebo or Prayer? An archival podcast

This is an archival podcast, going back over a decade to a session with Dr. Pierre Plourde, Dr. Donald Dyck and spiritual care provider Helen Holbrook, offering perspectives on the intersection of faith and medicine in health and healing. Originally offered at Aqua Books in our ideaExchange series, this seemed a good time in which to again share this audio.

  • From out of the Whirlwind…

A sermon by Jamie Howison from Sunday October 17, 2021, on Job 38:1-7, 34-41 and Mark 10:35-45.  The lectionary has us in the midst of a four week tour through the book of Job, which barely scratches the surface of that complex text. This text takes us into the territory of God's reply to Job from "out of the whirlwind," bringing the story closer to its resolution.
