Only ten more days until Christmas! We are so glad you are here with us on this third Sunday in Advent. Christmas is coming and we’re here today to get ready for it, not with coupons or decorations, but with our hearts and minds. These can be the hardest things to get ready, as our Gospel lesson illustrates today. We pray that today’s service gets you on your way for being ready for the King of kings . . . Jesus.

Our culture tells us not to be judgmental. Different parts of the Bible sometimes tell us to judge and sometimes not to. And Jesus promises He will come to judge. What is God's judgment, and how does it work in our lives today?

THANKSGIVING: This can be a tough holiday when life doesn’t live up to expectations. So does that mean we just focus on whatever crumbs of blessings we have, or is there something greater?

Today is Christ the King Sunday. It is normally filled with songs of majesty as we reflect on Jesus’ return to earth at the end of time. He will come in all His glory. Yet there is none of that in today’s Gospel lesson. The lesson is about a time in Jesus’ life when He was at His least glorious--Good Friday. He was completely rejected by the world, yet that is the kind of King Jesus came to be.

When Jesus talks about the end times, it sounds scary. Should we be afraid? What should we look for? How do we prepare?
