It’s hard to stand firm without sinking, especially when the world is so muddy. So what’s the secret?

We have been given the ultimate victory, but life doesn't always seem victorious. How do we find victory in challenging times?

Martin Luther was born and raised in Germany. The Reformation began in Germany, and soon spread across Europe. Today Lutherans can be found in Europe, North and South America, Africa, Asia and Australia. Most Lutherans are not Germans. The good news that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone has inspired people all over the world to give all the glory to God alone.

Sometimes prayer can be a time of real struggle. It can be a struggle to get the words out. It can be a struggle to even pray. It can be a struggle to pray with the belief that God hears, but also admitting that whatever we pray for, we leave up to God to answer in His way. God may have a different goal than we do when we come to Him in prayer. Sometimes the effort of the struggle is the whole point.

Life can go pretty well for a long time. Then, the bubble bursts. Now what?

Responding to requests is not always easy to do, especially if one’s resources are limited. We understand this of ourselves and of our fellow human beings. But with God it is different. God has revealed Himself to be all knowing and all powerful in His word. So, when we come to God with our requests, we often expect results from God. Is this an accurate description of God? Is this a reasonable expectation of God on our part?
