My therapist is a black woman who looks like me, oddly enough. But when I was seeking therapy I wanted a white man. Hanif (a black man) also goes to therapy - his therapist is a woman and he says he is not interested in having a male therapist, EVER! Life comes at you fast! And as you want more out of life and are responsible for more - it comes even faster. On this episode I detail why I’ve decided (starting Dec 1 2023) to put everything on pause and how I was able to do that by negotiating my terms. I told my job Im not quitting but I’m also not coming in for a few months. (yes, another sabbatical haha). I told the man I thought I’ve loved for nearly a decade, I can’t yo-yo with my emotions and him another day. I even told my landlord I’m not signing another year lease but I don’t intend to move. They all said “no” but I stood firm and guess what - they all agreed. Now I’m on a journey of selfish discovery. What do I like? What do I want? Who am I without interruptions? Idk. Let’s see!
